As with my previous work, my current drawings follow my continued interest in urban landscapes. My pastels document sites which have been important in my life, beginning with my early Broken Hill drawings. l have been able to visit many places, particularly South East Asia. I may be moved by an emotional response or stimulated by the visual ingredients I can explore in both ordinary and extra ordinary.

‘Place’ is important to me, but in equal measure with the formal qualities comprising the drawing. I aim to work with the design elements of the image, allowing intimate representation in conjunction with the emotional significance the place has for me. It is the urban that grabs me. The way people live.
